SAVE! The revolutionary copy paper

10/03/2011

Paper that gives the same results for less.

M-real has recently launched SAVE! a new copy paper that is lighter and greener than the average copy paper. This paper is set to take the lead in the next generation of office papers and help budget-conscious organisations improve their environmental performance.

What is revolutionary about SAVE! paper? The difference between SAVE! and other light papers on the market is its print quality and environmental performance. By using a different pulping process M-real’s development team have produced a 65 g/m2 paper that gives the same print results as an average 80 g/m2 paper but that uses a fewer resources.

With SAVE! consumers have the opportunity to choose a paper with substantial environmental benefits without compromising on print results. The paper also offers excellent value-for-money so is an ideal solution for those organisations that have tight budget constraints but do want to choose a sustainable option.

The environmental facts and figures

It’s easy to make ‘green’ claims, but the real test of any environmental paper is the facts that back it up. M-real has put SAVE! through rigorous testing to ensure both the print quality and the environmental benefits. These tests compared SAVE! to an average 80 g/m2 copy paper, made in the same mill and under the same conditions. The testing procedure and results were verified by an independent auditor.

What did the tests show?

Compared to an average 80 g/m2 paper SAVE!:
• Uses 19% less wood
• Uses 38% less water
• Uses 18% less energy
• Uses 10% less material in its packaging
• Generates 25% less emissions to water
• Generates 31% less emissions to air
• Generates 18% less waste

These substantial savings are not the only environmental benefits SAVE! delivers. The paper is also FSC certified and made using wood from sustainably managed forests. The boxes are made using recycled fibre while the paper and packaging can be recycled.

The environmental advantages of SAVE! have just been given further credence by the new initiative from the World Wildlife Fund, Check Your Paper (CYP). On testing the product, CYP gave SAVE! a score of 90/100 and a rating of ‘Excellent’. This will help consumers differentiate between SAVE! and other light papers that don’t deliver real sustainability. For more information please visit www.checkyourpaper.panda.org.

A product that works

There’s little argument that SAVE! performs well in environmental tests, but it also does well in delivering the same print results and runnability as an average 80 g/m2 copy paper. The paper is ideal for internal and volume jobs and is guaranteed for duplex printing on inkjet and laser technologies.

For consumers looking to use a cost-effective, sustainable paper for everyday printing, SAVE! is a great option. And, with FSC certification and an ‘Excellent’ rating from WWF’s Check Your Paper, organisations can trust that the facts and figures really do add up to an eco-efficient paper that makes sense.
