The wood that we use to our products comes from 130,000 members of Metsä Group, Metsä Board’s parent company. They own around half of the private forests in Finland, and are families who care about forests, growing and using the trees, but at the same time ensuring their viability for future generations.
Finnish legislation requires sustainable forest management is practised by forest owners. Furthermore, over 95% of Finland’s forests are certified. Our mills hold chain of custody certification, allowing us to label our products and inform customers about our credentials:
- 95% of all Finnish commercial forests are certified
- 8% of the world’s commercial forests are certified
