Dr. Müller Pharma is a Czech company producing medical devices, curative cosmetics and food supplements. Established in 1995, the company has used Metsä Board’s Carta Solida paperboard for its packaging ever since the grade first became available in 2001.
“It’s a very reliable board for our products. Its printability is excellent, which is especially important in such products as parapharmaceuticals,” says Dr. Vladimír Müller, the owner of the company.
All the company’s products must present a consistent brand look on the shop shelves, be they vitamins, nose sprays, hand creams or shampoos.
“Similar looks help customers find our brand. We are passionate about our work and certain that each and every product is as good as the next one. By having the same board as the ground element of every packaging, customers know what they are getting,” Dr. Müller says.
Clean looks and environmental credentials
The main reason that Dr. Müller decided to use Carta Solida was the whiteness of the board. Whiteness is especially important in pharmaceutical products, as it stands for purity and cleanness.
“Another important factor was printability: all the essential information must have as sharp a print result as the visual elements,” explains Michaela Elišáková from Dr. Müller Pharma’s printer Model Obaly Hostinné.
“When we started using Carta Solida, the ecological aspects were not under debate as much as they are these days. But since the environmental sides of Carta Solida are also an asset, there’s no reason to deny those either,” Dr. Müller adds.
Dr. Müller Pharma operates in 12 countries all over Europe, which places demands on the packaging’s durability in transport. With the light yet strong Carta Solida, this aspect of Dr. Müller Pharma’s business is in the clear as well.
