Board FAQs
Answers to the most frequently asked board questions

 -   What is cartonboard?

Cartonboard is wood fibre-based rigid and foldable packaging material. Folding boxboard usually consists of three layers of different fibres. The cartonboards with the best-balanced qualities are made of primary fibre, chemi-thermo-mechanical or mechanical pulp in the middle and chemical pulp in the outer layers. For enhanced appearance, the fibre materials are bleached to high whiteness. White mineral pigment coating gives the final touch to the board surfaces.

  -   What is corrugated board?

Corrugated board is wood fibre-based sturdy and foldable packaging material that usually consists of three essential elements. Corrugated (fluted) board in the middle makes the board airy, whereas liners as outer surfaces add strength and appearance. The strongest choice of corrugated board is made of virgin chemical pulp liners and semi-chemical pulp corrugated medium fluting. Bleached pulp and mineral coating on the face side of liners enhance printability and appearance.
