Korpikuusikko Honey, a Finnish artisan honey producer, is quality certified and uses only recyclable or reusable materials. Its products are packed by hand in glass jars and then in sustainable packaging made of Metsä Board's paperboards.
“My vision is to produce gifts instead of honey. Elegant, high-quality packaging adds to consumer value,” says Teemu Aittamaa, Founder of Korpikuusikko Honey. The honey is being sold as business gifts, for example.
Ilkka Harju, Packaging Services Director, EMEA and APAC at Metsä Board, and his team designed a comprehensive set of packages. It includes primary packaging, a gift set as well as e-commerce packaging. In addition, they also designed transport packaging as well as point of sale displays for both floor and table use.
Luxury packaging with a natural appearance
The primary packaging features precise details, such as gold-foiled bees on the sleeve and a large foil area on the bottom part. In production, the large foil is more manageable than lamination, and more tones are available. Transparent holographic foil gives the packaging a glittery appearance that resembles ice crystals and highlights the white packaging.
The floor display, on the other hand, is made from corrugated board made of Metsä Board's white kraftliner. Thanks to its inventive design, no material goes to waste. The stand is lightweight and quick and easy to assemble. Gold foil has been used in the display header instead of regular silk-screen printing.
