Metsä Board Äänekoski Mill

Äänekoski Board Mill produces high-quality folding boxboard. Board unit was established in 1899. The current workforce is 170 employees and production capacity 255,000 t/a. The mill is led by Mill Manager Anders Ek.

Metsä Board Husum Mill


Metsä Board Husum mill in Sweden is an integrated board and pulp mill producing folding boxboard, uncoated white kraftliner and bleached chemical pulp. The main markets for Husum's paperboards are Europe and North America. Roughly half of the chemical pulp produced in Husum is sold as market pulp. The mill has also an extrusion coating line (annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes) serving the global food and food service packaging market. The site has an own harbour enabling efficient logistics to main markets. 30% of Husum pulp mill is owned by Norra Skog as of January 2021. 

Metsä Board Kyro Mill

​Kyro mill produces high-quality folding boxboard. The mill was established in 1870. The current workforce is 150 and production capacity 190,000 t/a. The mill is led by Mill Manager Timo Tuomisto.

Metsä Board Tako Mill

​Tako mill produces high-quality folding boxboard. The mill was established in 1865. The current workforce is 210 and production capacity 210,000 t/a. The mill is led by Mill Manager Jaakko Ikonen.

Metsä Board Simpele Mill

​Metsä Board Simpele mill produces high-quality folding boxboard. The mill was established in 1896. The current workforce is 270 and production capacity 290,000 t/a. The mill is led by Mill Manager Veli-Pekka Kyllönen.

Metsä Board Joutseno Mill

​Metsä Board Joutseno mill produces bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp (BCTMP). The mill was established in 2001. The current workforce is 50 employees and production capacity 330,000 t/a. The mill is led by Mill Manager Veli-Pekka Kyllönen.

Metsä Board Kaskinen Mill

​Metsä Board Kaskinen mill produces bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp (BCTMP). The mill was established in 2005. The current workforce is 80 employees and production capacity 380,000 t/a. The mill is led by Mill Manager Timo Rissanen.

Metsä Board Kemi Mill

​Kemi mill produces mainly coated white-top fresh fibre kraftliner. The mill was established in 1971. The current workforce is 90 and production capacity 425,000 t/a. The mill is led by Mill Manager Tomi Seppä.
