Pago wanted to develop a fun promotional campaign based upon a clever ‘message on a bottle’ design for its fruit juice. Its ‘Love Life’ slogan was visually represented by a highly innovative paperboard sleeve that went over the fruit juice bottle. Working with its converter an easy to produce and cost effective paperboard sleeve was developed for maximum shelf-appeal. The sleeve was specifically designed to encourage interaction both in-store and after purchase with the folding boxboard heart element having a dual purpose of being used for making fun photos for a prize draw competition and as a gift tag. The ideal choice for this sleeve design was 250 gsm MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright, which offers excellent structural strength combined with excellent print quality reproduction.
“I've chosen MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright because it has already proven on previous projects (YO Fruit Syrup paperboard sleeve). It can be processed perfectly, and it also works well on the bottling line. Its surface enables a glossy printed image,” says Packaging designer Gerlinde Gruber.
This inventive promotional sleeve was selected as a finalist in the ‘Most Innovative’ category in the 2017 European Carton Excellence Awards.
