Earlier this year, Metsä Board gained a spot on the A List of CDP’s two other programmes, Water and Climate, for its sustainable water management and climate change actions.
For Metsä Board, a key part of sustainable forestry is forest renewal. In Finland, four new seedlings are planted for each harvested tree.
All of the wood the company uses is traceable and comes from certified or controlled forests.“We know exactly where our wood comes from. Regular external and internal audits take place to ensure the sustainable management of these forests” says
Anne Uusitalo, sustainability manager at Metsä Board.
